License

Nook’s source code is released under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute and sell it, as long as you keep the copyright and permission notice. Nook is a fork of Coucou by Louis Raillé, which is also MIT-licensed; the original notice is kept. Gullu, the icons and the sounds are Nook’s own and are covered by LICENSE-ASSETS.md. Third-party notices (for example Lucide icons) are in NOTICE.

Provided as is

The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and noninfringement. In no event are the authors liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the software or its use. You use Nook at your own risk.

Your responsibility

  • Approvals are yours. Nook only shows you a request and relays your click. Decide what you allow, and read what a request will do before you allow it.
  • Your settings. Nook edits your Claude Code settings only after a preview and a click, and takes a dated backup first. Keep your own backups of files that matter to you.
  • Your use of other services. Your use of Claude Code, Claude, Cursor or any other tool is governed by their terms, not these.

No affiliation, trademarks

Nook is an independent open-source project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic, Cursor (Anysphere) or Microsoft, or by the author of Coucou. “Claude” and “Claude Code” are trademarks of Anthropic. “Cursor” and “Windows” are trademarks of their owners. They are used here only to say what Nook works with.

This website

The site documents Nook and is provided in good faith. We try to keep it accurate for the version named on each page, but it may lag behind the software. The source repository and the release notes are authoritative.
